Born in Abergavenny and growing up first in New Inn and then in Cwmbran, Gareth qualified as Bachelor of Dental Surgery from Cardiff University Dental School in 2009. After Vocational Training in Rhiwbina, Cardiff, he attained his Certificate of General Professional Training comprising working first as a Senior House Officer in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at Prince Charles Hospital, Merthyr Tydfil, then as a Community Dental Officer in the Merthyr, Rhondda and Ogwr Valleys. Following this Gareth began work in General Dental Practice Bridgend and Barry, later moving to Barry full time. During these years Gareth attained a Postgraduate Diploma in Conscious Sedation in Dentistry from Cardiff University in 2015 and completed the Foundation in Implant Dentistry Certificate from Straumann and the International Team for Implantology in 2016. On 1st November 2017 Gareth completed purchase of the Brynhyfryd Dental Practice following a short period working here as a locum.
Whilst working in Merthyr Tydfil Gareth met his now wife Hannah, a Learning Disability Nurse, and having married in December 2015 at Cyfarthfa Castle in Merthyr, they live in Swansea with their two daughters and their dog.
Professionally Gareth is Dental Phobia Certified and a member of the Denplan Future Leaders steering group which involves advising Government policy through the production of white papers and networking at Westminster with cross-party MPs and other leaders in UK dentistry. His interests are conscious sedation, dental implants, cosmetic dentistry, tooth whitening, short-duration aesthetic orthodontics for adults and facial rejuvenation treatments. Gareth is co-chair of the Independent Dental Association Wales for 2021-2023 having previously served as secretary in the organisation. He is also an international conference speaker which has included co-chairing the first day of the Rome Dental Conference and Expo in December 2018 and heading to Osaka, Japan in September 2019 to speak at the Global Experts Meet on Holistic, Alternative and Traditional of Dentistry and Medicine.
Our Practice Manager Stacey started as a dental nurse 22 years ago. She then went onto develop her knowledge through futher training to become theatre lead at Parkway clinic.
Her professional, loyal and thorough attitude to work is exceptional and we are so grateful to have her on our team.
Stacey loves spending time with her family and going on holidays abroad or in her campervan, and also socialising with friends.
Ashley is a warm, approachable dentist with a passion for making your visit to the dentist as relaxing as possible. She graduated from Cardiff Dental School and has since been dedicated to delivering high-quality care. Known for her gentle touch and calming presence, Ashley is committed to making even the most nervous patients feel at ease.
In addition to general dental care, Ashley is a certified provider of aligner treatments, helping patients achieve straighter smiles with subtle, comfortable solutions. She has also trained on the prestigious Harley Street, honing her skills in facial aesthetics, including anti-wrinkle injections and dermal fillers. Her goal is to help you achieve not just a healthy smile, but the look that makes you feel your best.

Olly began his dental career with foundation training in Caerphilly, gaining valuable experience before returning to Swansea. Since then, Olly has established himself as a dedicated and caring general dentist, passionate about delivering high-quality dental care to all his patients.
Olly has a keen interest in modern orthodontic treatments, being a comprehensive Invisalign provider. His commitment to continuing education ensures that he is always up to date with the latest advancements in dentistry. He often listens to dental podcasts and discussions with colleagues in professional forums. Alongside his clinical work, Olly has a keen interest in dental photography, and you can find some of his work on Instagram (@dr.ollyjones). He has also pursued postgraduate training in facial aesthetics on Harley Street, enabling him to offer botulinum toxin treatments for anti-wrinkle purposes
Olly is committed to creating a calm and reassuring atmosphere, especially for anxious patients, helping them feel at ease throughout their treatment. He places a strong emphasis on patient education, ensuring that his patients are well-informed about how to maintain their oral health and prevent future dental issues. By focusing on minimally invasive techniques and tailored care, Olly helps his patients achieve their best smiles while promoting long-term dental wellness.
Outside of dentistry, Olly enjoys playing the guitar (badly) and swimming to stay active.

Gemma started her career in dentistry in 2016 as a trainee dental nurse. Since then she has qualified as a dental hygienist in 2021 at Portsmouth university and is currently studying dental therapy at the university of Essex, Gemma's future is so bright with all the new skills she is learning, she's professional, kind and outgoing, she has a lovely little boy, and husband to be, she loves her dogs and still manages to find the time to run miles each week.
Natasha started in dentistry age 16 as a trainee dental nurse but her desire to continually increase her skills and abilities meant that eventually she would undertake training as a hygienist, qaulifying from Cardiff University in 2004. Natasha loves nothing more than getting stuck into plaque and calculus and is passionat about oral health education to ensure her clients have the knowledge and skills to keep their gums and teeth as healthy as possible. Natasha is also excellent with anxious and nervous people and is extremely gentle and caring ensuring that in her time with us she has become a firm favourite of our clients. Outside of the practice Natahs has a husband, 2 teenage children and a dog with whom she loves spending time especially going on holidays.
Gemma has over 20 years of experience in the dental profession, I am a highly skilled and registered dental nurse including the radiography qualification who has successfully navigated both clinical and managerial roles within dental practices her career began with a strong foundation in dental nursing, providing comprehensive support to dentists and ensuring the highest standard of patient care. Over time, her dedication and organizational abilities led to a promotion into management, where her honed skills in leadership, team coordination, and practice administration.
Gemma enjoys social events and loves spending time with her family, friends and dog.
Lucy started with us June 2024 as a qualified dental nurse, who has been qualified for over 10 years.
Lucy has vast experience in nursing for procedures under local anaesthetic as well as general anaesthetic and sedation for a range of treatments such as oral surgery as well as general dentistry. Lucy took some time away from dentistry to expand her knowledge in healthcare and is qualified in phlebotomy and vaccinations. Lucy is very hardworking and enjoys getting to know all our lovely patients at brynhyfryd dental. Her favourite procedure to assist is extractions.
Niamh has been nursing for just over 2 years and is working towards getting her level 3 diploma in dental nursing.
Niamh loves to see patients happy and enjoys having a chat with them when they come to Brynhyfryd dental, always making patients feel welcomed with her warming and caring nature.
Niamh loves to take her dog out walking, spending time with family and friends and also loves going abroad on holiday in her spare time.
Naomi has just started her career as a trainee dental nurse in 2023 and has taken to it like a duck to water. Coming from working in the care sector she already has patient skills, She is kind and caring and is now passionate about learning all aspects of dentistry. Naomi enjoys socialising and going on holiday with family and friends.
Amy is a trainee dental nurse, which was a huge change of career for her however she is really enjoying it and finding it very interesting. She is Looking forward to meeting and caring for all the patients at brynhyfryd dental practice.
Amy’s passion is baking, shes bake celebration cakes and also plenty of sweet treats for the staff.
Amy’s favourite hobbies are the gym and spending time with family and socialising with friends.
Jamie-Lee started with us December 2023 as a brand new trainee dental nurse. Jamie-Lee is very hardworking and enjoys getting to know all our lovely patients at brynhyfryd dental. Her favourite procedure to assist our Dentists with is fillings as they can be different every time. Outside of work she is a busy mum to her two daughters and enjoys spending her spare time with family and friends.
Liddia has been Dental nursing for over 5 years and qualified for 3 years. Liddia enjoys nursing for implant and surgical dentistry. She is now working towards her Nursing degree as well as working with us, when she has the time. Liddia Is proffesional and enthusiastic and an asset to our team, She loves going for food, walking her dog and going away on holidays.
